Introduction

The payload power hotswap is designed to allow the payload of the aircraft to be powered by an external battery while the aircraft main flight batteries are being replaced.

This is particularly useful for payloads that have a long boot time or require a calibration routine on each start-up. By keeping the payload powered continuously, the down-time between flights can be reduced.

Operation

In normal operation the hotswap will only be used during the time that you are changing from one battery pack to another on the drone.

  • After landing confirm the drone is disarmed and safe to approach

  • Plug hotswap battery into the power input port on the side of the aircraft

  • Replace drone flight batteries

  • Plug in drone flight batteries

  • Unplug hotswap battery

  • Remove the hotswap battery and any other hazards from the takeoff location

  • No labels
