  • Open the old Windows control panel

  • Press the "Windows Key" and search for control panel

  • Change “view by” in the top right corner to small icons

  • Click on network and sharing center

  • Select change adapter settings

  • Double click on the Ethernet adapter

  • Select Internet protocol Version 4 from the list and click properties

    • Scroll to one of the sections below for static or dynamic (DHCP) settings and follow the steps

Set Static IP

  • Select "Use the following IP Address"

  • Enter the desired settings

    • IP address and subnet mask are mandatory

    • Default Gateway and DNS server settings are optional

  • Click Ok to close the menus

Enable DHCP (Dynamic IP)

  • Select Obtain an IP Address Automatically

  • Select Obtain DNS Server Automatically

  • Click Ok to close the menus
