The carbon fiber propellers on the SE-8 are designed to last for a long time when used and stored carefully. However, many things can cause additional wear or damage to the propellers. This page will explain how to replace the propellers.

  • Propeller Direction

    • Arms A and C

      • Top: CCW

      • Bottom: CW

    • Arms B and D

      • Top: CW

      • Bottom: CCW

 

  • Attach Propellers facing upright

    • The top side of the propeller is the smooth, outwardly curved side

    • The top of the arm can be identified by looking at the label for the arm letter “A, B, C, D”, the serial number on the arm, or the writing on the PCB inside the arm joint.

  • Place the center dowel pin in the motor hub

    • This will align the propeller

  • Place the propeller on in the correct direction as indicated above

  • Use four screws along with the top side washer to secure the propeller

    • First gently fasten screws but do not tighten

  • Torque screws in a star pattern

    • Torque to 9 in-lbs (1 N-m)

  • The propeller should match this diagram once the drone is fully assembled

  • This convention is sometimes called “props in” on top and “props out” on bottom
