Power Switch

Each connector is equipped with a switch to enable or disable a 5V output on that connector. An LED will indicate if the port is providing 5V power.

All data pins are connected regardless of the power switch position

5V Power Limitations

The 5V power connections on the dropouts are supplied by the flight controller primary regulator. This output is low current (300 mA) and is connected directly to the flight controller. It is suitable for use with small auxiliary peripherals (such as camera shutter controls) that are designed to be powered by a flight controller. It should never be used to power a payload.

Shorting or overdrawing this output can cause the flight controller to reboot or enter a failsafe state. This can result in a crash!

Payload power is to be provided by the main payload power output or a separate payload regulator unit. Payload regulator units are available in a variety of voltages and power ranges. Please contact BFD for more information.
